Basketball Recap: Tri-County Falls Short of Marquette Catholic in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tri-County can now relate to. They lost 51-27 to the Marquette Catholic Blazers on Saturday. The matchup marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Tri-County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sara Zarse, who posted five points along with six boards and three steals. Grace Luck was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Tri-County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marquette Catholic only seven offensive boards.

Laniah Davis was her usual excellent self, going 10-for-12 to rack up 23 points and three steals for Marquette Catholic. The contest was Davis' fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Livia Balling, who put up seven points.

Tri-County's loss dropped their record down to 22-3. As for Marquette Catholic, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-4.

Tri-County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marquette Catholic has already played their next matchup (against Highland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
