Basketball Recap: Purdue Poly Englewood Comes Up Short

After flying high against Herron back in November of 2024, Purdue Poly Englewood came back down to earth. Purdue Poly Englewood received a blow on Saturday as they fell 76-57 to the Monrovia Bulldogs. The loss was Purdue Poly Englewood's first of the season.

Monrovia was led to victory by Zoie Walls and Emery Newlin. Walls went 11 of 15 on her way to 26 points in addition to seven steals and six boards, while Newlin almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Tallent, who posted six points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Purdue Poly Englewood fell to 2-1. As for Monrovia, their record now sits at 8-6.

Purdue Poly Englewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monrovia, they will square off against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
