Volleyball Recap: Petal Comes Up Short

Petal managed to slip by Oak Grove the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers came up short against the Warriors on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Petal took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-21.

Among those leading the charge was Hailey Causey, who had eight digs and three assists. That's the most digs she has posted over her last two matches. Mica Shemper also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Petal is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12. As for Oak Grove, they pushed their record up to 14-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Petal didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Northwest Rankin on the 11th. As for Oak Grove, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Brandon on the 11th.
