Advantage Academy had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell victim to a rough 20-0 defeat at the hands of the International Leadership of Texas Keller Eagles. Advantage Academy has not had much luck with International Leadership of Texas Keller recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
For International Leadership of Texas Keller's part, Porter Cleverly made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn't allow any walks). Cleverly was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Grant Thomas was incredible, going 2-for-5 with five RBI, a triple, and a stolen base. Another player making a difference was Paul Gardner, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
