Pope had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Cambridge Bears 45-0 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Bears are ranked 72nd).

Cambridge was led to victory by Brooks Malone and Connor Langford. Malone rushed for 133 yards and two TDs on only six carries, while Langford threw for 193 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.
