Softball Game Preview: Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars vs. Park Tudor Panthers

The Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Park Tudor Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenwood Christian Academy has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Traders Point Christian hit Greenwood Christian Academy with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars came up short against the Knights, falling 15-8. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kaylee Edgar put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and 12 unearned) runs off 12 hits. Edgar was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Elle Schnake was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zarel Chavez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Park Tudor never got on the board in their matchup last Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Providence Cristo Rey on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 20-4 margin over the Wolves.

Greenwood Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Park Tudor, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Greenwood Christian Academy skirted past Park Tudor 12-10 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
