Baseball Recap: Oak Harbor Triumphs

Oak Harbor won against Sedro-Woolley on Saturday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Bellingham Bayhawks. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Oak Harbor let Camden Burleigh and Tristin Hamblin run wild. Burleigh went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Hamblin went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Hamblin a new career-high. Connor Reed also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Oak Harbor and bumps their season record up to 3-8. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 6-3 Sedro-Woolley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56.7% over those games). As for Bellingham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.

Oak Harbor has already played their next contest, a 10-4 victory against Lynden Christian on the 7th. As for Bellingham, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-8 defeat against Sedro-Woolley on the 7th.
