Baseball Recap: Lake Wales Takes a Loss

Lake Wales managed to slip by Owasso the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lake Wales Highlanders came up short against the Owasso Rams on Saturday, falling 12-2. The Highlanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Lake Wales saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Finnell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Cash Cockrell also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Lake Wales' defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Owasso, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

While Lake Wales had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
