Baseball Recap: Quinton Takes a Loss

Quinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Porum Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 17-4 defeat last Monday.

Mikey Perez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Rylan Cate was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Quinton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Quinton's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Porum, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Quinton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-1 victory against Arkoma on the 27th. Porum has also already played their next contest (against Webbers Falls), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
