Basketball Recap: Santa Clara Takes a Loss

Santa Clara lost against Saratoga back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Santa Clara Bruins lost 63-43 to the Saratoga Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1206th, while the Falcons are ranked 339th).

Santa Clara dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Saratoga, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Clara has already played their next contest (against Homestead), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Saratoga will venture away from home to challenge MacDonald at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Saratoga is facing MacDonald at the right time seeing as MacDonald is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
