Basketball Recap: Lakeview Charter Comes Up Short

Lakeview Charter lost against Triumph Charter back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lakeview Charter Lions were dealt a 65-34 defeat at the hands of the Triumph Charter Jaguars. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-15.

Triumph Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Antonio Garcia III, who dropped a triple-double on 21 points, ten rebounds, and 16 assists. Those 16 assists gave Garcia III a new career-high. Jorge Jimenez was another key player, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Lakeview Charter and nudges their season record down to 3-14. As for Triumph Charter, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Lakeview Charter will square off against Community Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Triumph Charter, they and Valley Oaks CES will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Triumph Charter is facing Valley Oaks CES at the right time seeing as Valley Oaks CES is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
