Softball Recap: Sunday's Victory Is Chattanooga Central's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Chattanooga Central gave up the first runs on Sunday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 16-13 victory over the Red Bank Lions. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 14-2 victory back in April.

Navaeh Frank was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Chattanooga Central got a massive performance out of Sanaa Townsend, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Townsend has posted since back in May of 2024. Myra Kouris was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Chattanooga Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8-1 record this season. As for Red Bank, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Coming up, Chattanooga Central will head out to challenge Soddy Daisy at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Red Bank does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
