Baseball Game Preview: Ocean City Raiders vs. Pro Stock Royals Academy Royals

While Raiders fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They had just enough and edged out Pro Stock Royals Academy 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted since May 10, 2024.

For Pro Stock Royals Academy's part, David Rowles was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Rowles has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ty Goodson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jace Parenteau, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
