Soccer Recap: Conant Gets the Win

Conant barely beat Hoffman Estates the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars' defense stepped up to hand the Hawks a 3-0 shutout on Friday. Vivian Brand had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Conant.

Conant's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Hoffman Estates, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Conant and Hoffman Estates could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 224th) will meet Palatine (ranked 68th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Hoffman Estates will face off against Buffalo Grove at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (322 vs. 155).
