            Softball Preview: Hiland Hawks vs. Central Christian Comets        
        
		
        
        
            The Hiland Hawks will face off against the Central Christian Comets at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Hiland will be strutting in after a  victory while Central Christian will be coming in after a  loss.
Having struggled with ten  defeats in a row, Hiland  turned things around against Smithville  on Friday. They came out on top against the Smithies by a score of  6-1.

 Makayla Beachy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Jalyn Immel, who  went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases and two  runs. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alissa Yoder, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Hiland was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .393. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
 Meanwhile, Central Christian fell victim to Lake Center Christian and their airtight pitching crew  on Thursday. They lost  12-0 to the Tiger. The Comets have struggled against the Tiger recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
 Central Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Hiland, their win bumped their record up to 2-15.
