Baseball Game Preview: Shawnee Mission West Vikings vs. Olathe East Hawks

The Shawnee Mission West Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Olathe East Hawks on Tuesday. The last three games Shawnee Mission West has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Friday, neither Shawnee Mission West nor Eudora could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 tie.

Meanwhile, Olathe East faced Mill Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Hawks won by a run and slipped past the Jaguars 6-5. The win was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on four straight.

With that draw, Shawnee Mission West's record moves to 11-7-1. As for Olathe East, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2.

Shawnee Mission West might still be hurting after the 13-5 loss they got from Olathe East in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
