Basketball Game Preview: Holgate Tigers vs. Montpelier Locomotives

The Holgate Tigers will challenge the Montpelier Locomotives at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Holgate has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 7.

Holgate is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Archbold on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Holgate was beaten by Archbold 49-21. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 732nd, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 204th).

Meanwhile, Montpelier was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 44-40 to Hilltop.

Holgate's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Montpelier, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4.
