Softball Game Preview: Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs vs. Elgin Maroons

The Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Elgin Maroons at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverside-Brookfield will be strutting in after a win while Elgin will be coming in after a loss.

Riverside-Brookfield can't be too worried about heading out to take on Elgin: they just beat West Chicago at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 10-2 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Elgin was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 19-2 to Bartlett.

The win made it two in a row for Riverside-Brookfield and bumps their season record up to 10-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Elgin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
