Volleyball Game Preview: Genoa Area Comets vs. Northwood Rangers

The Genoa Area Comets will head out to face off against the Northwood Rangers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Genoa Area is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Genoa Area lost 3-0 to Maumee on Thursday.

Genoa Area took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-22.

Genoa Area's loss came about despite a quality game from Charli Magnone, who had 12 digs and three assists. Magnone is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Meanwhile, Northwood came up short against Gibsonburg on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Rangers haven't had much luck with the Golden Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-10, 25-17.

Genoa Area's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Northwood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Everything went Genoa Area's way against Northwood in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Genoa Area made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
