Basketball Recap: River Ridge Comes Up Short

After flying high against North Crawford on Monday, River Ridge came back down to earth. The Timberwolves had to suffer through a 61-31 loss at the hands of the Shullsburg Miners. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

River Ridge's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Shullsburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.

Looking ahead, River Ridge will be home for the holidays to greet Albany/Monticello at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Shullsburg, they will challenge Independence/Gilmanton at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Miners' defense better be ready for this one: the Indees have averaged an impressive 58.6 points per game this season.
