Softball Recap: Halifax Academy Has No Trouble Against Ridgecroft

Halifax Academy won the last time they faced Ridgecroft and things went their way on Friday too. The Vikings put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 11-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Payton Odom made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karson Ricks, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4. Emma Inscoe was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Halifax Academy picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 6-8-1. As for Ridgecroft, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 7-2 record.

Halifax Academy has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Cape Fear Christian Academy on the 10th. As for Ridgecroft, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-1 win against Northeast Academy on the 10th.
