Basketball Game Preview: Madill Wildcats vs. Durant Lions

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Madill Wildcats duke it out with the Durant Lions at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday... Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Tuesday, Madill took a blow against Hugo, falling 67-37. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Durant entered their matchup against Will Rogers College on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Durant received a blow as they fell 58-44 to Will Rogers College. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Ropers are ranked 49th).

Madill has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Durant, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.

Madill came up short against Durant in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 58-50. Can Madill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
