Softball Recap: Meek Gets the Win

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Meek came out on top in a nail-biter against Brilliant, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Meek has posted since March 11th.

Sadi Farley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Anna Collins was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Molli Sandlin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meek pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Brilliant, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Coincidentally, Meek and Brilliant will both be playing Winston County the next time they take the field. Meek will host Winston County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Brilliant will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
