Game recap: Citrus High School Football Team beats Lake Weir

OCALA, Fla. - the Hurricanes had a big 15-point second quarter on Saturday, sealing a 29-0 victory over Lake Weir (Ocala, Fla.).

Citrus scored on a touchdown run and a defensive touchdown in the quarter.

The lead that CHS took on a touchdown run by pouncy James with 10:00 remaining in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.

The Inverness school came into the game allowing 17.3 points per game. Lake Weir's zero points were well below their season average of 11.9 per game.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 63-41 win for the Hurricanes.



The win was a nice bounce back for Citrus, which lost to Gainesville last week, 38-16. The loss was the fourth in a row for Lake Weir.

Lake Weir (1-7) goes up against Nature Coast Tech in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Citrus (8-1) locks horns with Crystal River also in a non-conference game.
