Basketball Recap: Laurens' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Laurens had lost six straight headed into Tuesday's contest, but Zoe Young didn't let it get to seven. The Laurens Raiders took down the Southside Tigers 44-29 on Tuesday thanks in part to Young, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 22 boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Laurens' points.

Another player making a difference was Nyri Allen, who posted eight points in addition to ten boards and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.

Laurens' win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Southside, their record now sits at 6-4.

Laurens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-36 loss against Wren on the 9th. As for Southside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-30 victory against Emerald on the 9th.
