Acadiana had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They really took it to the Sam Houston Broncos for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-21 win. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Acadiana's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Troy Kennerson led the charge by rushing for 81 yards and one score. Kennerson's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. Collin Dibetta was another key player, gaining 117 total yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Acadiana was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 308 rushing yards. They rushed for 101 more rushing yards than Sam Houston's also-impressive total of 207.

Another reason for the win was Acadiana's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Darryus Mckinley was especially locked on to Sam Houston's QB and sacked him twice. Mckinley has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last six times he's played.

Despite the loss, Sam Houston still got an impressive performance from Gavin Breaux, who rushed for 121 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 65 yards and a pair of TDs. The Broncos also got a significant boost from E.J. Hanney, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.

Acadiana's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Sam Houston, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Acadiana will face off against Carencro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.44 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sam Houston, they will take on Barbe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos will need to watch out since the Buccaneers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
