Recap: Eagle Mustangs vs. Rocky Mountain Grizzlies
The Eagle Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 63-62 victory over Rocky Mountain. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Paige Cofer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with nine rebounds. The game was her 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mary (molly) johnson, who scored 14 points.
Despite the loss, Rocky Mountain still got an impressive performance from Logan Sailors, who scored 28 points. Those 28 points set a new season-high mark for her. Anna Dabell was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Eagle is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Rocky Mountain, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eagle will face off against Kuna at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rocky Mountain, they will head out on the road to face off against Owyhee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Owyhee will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
