Basketball Game Preview: Chicago Christian Knights vs. St. Edward Green Wave

Chicago Christian hasn't had much luck against St. Edward recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Chicago Christian Knights will welcome the St. Edward Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Chicago Christian comes in on three and St. Edward on four.

Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Chicago Christian beat Elmwood Park 34-29.

Imani Frazier was the offensive standout of the match as she almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed six or more in the last six games she's played. Kihra Moes was another key player, putting up five points and six boards.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led St. Edward over Streamwood in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that St. Edward blew Streamwood out of the water with a 53-26 final score. The Green Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

St. Edward has also been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 20 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Chicago Christian, they pushed their record up to 15-11 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Chicago Christian took a serious blow against St. Edward in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 64-25. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Chicago Christian was down 40-8.
