Georgetown lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Leander, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Eagles blew past the Lions 58-27 on Friday. That 31 point margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Kaleb McDougle was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 222 yards and five touchdowns. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jett Walker, who rushed for 115 yards and a pair of scores.

Georgetown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 250 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Leander still got an impressive performance from Mason Montgomery, who rushed for 63 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 109 yards on nine of 23 attempts. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Dominic Jaramillo, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Georgetown and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.5 points over those games. As for Leander, their record now sits at 1-3.

Georgetown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-7 win against Chaparral on the 2nd. As for Leander, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 28-27 victory against Glenn on the 3rd.
