Recap: Red Bluff Spartans vs. Shasta Wolves
The Red Bluff Spartans lost against the Shasta Wolves back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Red Bluff fell just short of Shasta by a score of 17-14. Red Bluff has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Red Bluff still got an impressive performance from Jose (chacho) Chavez, who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Chavez has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last three times he's played.
Shasta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Owen Boesiger, who picked up 136 receiving yards and a touchdown. Boesiger's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards. Justin Polley was another key contributor, rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Red Bluff has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Shasta, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Red Bluff will head out on the road to face off against Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Foothill will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Shasta will take on Enterprise at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Enterprise is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
