Baseball Recap: Vance County Comes Up Short

Vance County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 30th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Vance Charter Knights, falling 17-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vipers of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Jamaal Torrance made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Vance County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Vance Charter, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-5.

Coming up, Vance County will face off against South Granville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vance Charter, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-0 win against Warren County on the 4th.
