Basketball Recap: Salmon Takes a Loss

Salmon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 65-53 to the West Jefferson Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-36 back in January.

Despite the loss, Salmon still got an impressive performance from Broc Matthews, who posted 18 points. Matthews has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Wyatt Pilkerton was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Salmon's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for West Jefferson, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.

Salmon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-33 defeat against Firth on the 13th. As for West Jefferson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-51 victory against North Fremont on the 11th.
