It was a good run, but South Lenoir unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the East Duplin Panthers by a score of 1-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Blue Devils haven't been shut out since back in February.

South Lenoir's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for East Duplin, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

South Lenoir has already played their next match, an 11-1 win against Southwest Onslow on the 10th. As for East Duplin, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-1 victory against Wallace-Rose Hill on the 10th.
