Baseball Recap: Mariposa County Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

After losing to Denair the last time they met, Mariposa County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Grizzlies put the hurt on the Coyotes with a sharp 8-0 victory on Thursday. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Ben Lingenfelter, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Denair off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brayden Getty, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carmine Sandoval, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Mariposa County is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Denair, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8-1.

As of now, neither Mariposa County nor the Coyotes have any future games scheduled.
