It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jefferson can now relate to. They took a 31-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Malakoff Tigers on Friday. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Jefferson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tihmyus Taylor, who threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns. 87 of those passing yards were hauled in by Jakyrie Johnson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Mike Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Malakoff, rushing for 119 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 149 yards and a touchdown on only 13 passes. Jones' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. Jerrion Hall also helped out as he racked up 118 rushing yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jefferson fell to 12-1. As for Malakoff, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Malakoff, they will head out on the road to face off against Liberty-Eylau at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Malakoff knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Liberty-Eylau likes a good challenge.
