Basketball Recap: Sports Leadership & Management Comes Up Short

After flying high against Miami Christian last Tuesday, Sports Leadership & Management came back down to earth. Sports Leadership & Management fell 66-56 to the Cardinal Mooney Cougars on Saturday.

Cardinal Mooney's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madi Mignery, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Mignery's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Martin, who went 8 of 14 en route to 20 points.

Sports Leadership & Management has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. As for Cardinal Mooney, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-9.

Sports Leadership & Management does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cardinal Mooney, they will take on Tarpon Springs on Tuesday. Cardinal Mooney knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Tarpon Springs likes a good challenge.
