Softball Recap: Abilene Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

Abilene hadn't done well against Midland recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Abilene Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Midland Bulldogs, sneaking past 3-1. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Avah Reyes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Germanie Williams, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Abilene hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 4-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
