Baseball Recap: Fuqua Takes a Loss

After flying high against The New Community School on Monday, Fuqua came back down to earth. The Falcons took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights on Wednesday. The Falcons have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Fuqua saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Hicks, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Clay Austin also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Fuqua's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-6 record.

Looking ahead, Fuqua will host Amelia Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, they will venture away from home to challenge Monticello at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
