Damascus won against Centennial on Wednesday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Hornets beat the Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-3. Ana DiGiandomenico made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kailyn Sheahin was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Amaya Hammond, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Damascus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial only posted an OBP of .385.
The win was the sixth in a row for Damascus, bringing their record up to 16-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Centennial, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7.
Damascus has already played their next match (against Glenelg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
