Ponderosa has gone 7-2 against Christian Brothers recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ponderosa has three straight wins, Christian Brothers has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Ponderosa's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Rio Americano 17-0. Considering the Bruins have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Molly McFarland was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Borges, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Ponderosa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Christian Brothers' offense. They came up short against Bella Vista on Wednesday, falling 15-0. Considering the last time the Falcons couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

Christian Brothers' loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Ponderosa, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Christian Brothers' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ponderosa has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Christian Brothers, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Ponderosa's sizable advantage in that area, the Falcons will need to find a way to close that gap.

Ponderosa took their win against Christian Brothers when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 17-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
