Basketball Recap: Batavia Has No Trouble Against Newark

After losing to Newark the last time they met, Batavia decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Batavia Blue Devils greeted the New Year with with a 67-53 win over the Newark Reds.

Batavia's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Newark, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Batavia will welcome Brockport at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Batavia is facing Brockport at the right time seeing as Brockport is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Newark, they will head out to square off against Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wayne has seven straight wins, Newark has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
