If Isabella wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Maplesville, they should've done a better job of containing Nehemiah McCary. The Red Devils took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over the Mustangs with plenty of help from McCary, who rushed for 106 yards and four TDs on only 11 carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making two total tackles.

Despite the loss, Isabella saw an underclassman step up: sophomore William Leonard rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown.

Maplesville has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 13 points this season. As for Isabella, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Maplesville and Isabella will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Red Devils will take on rival Ellwood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Isabella is set to challenge their familiar foe Sulligent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
