Softball Recap: Central Rockets vs. Dundee-Crown Chargers

Central won against Crystal Lake Central on Wednesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Rockets beat the Dundee-Crown Chargers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-3. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Sophia Koertgen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Central's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Sieverding, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
