Baseball Game Preview: Safford Bulldogs vs. Globe Tigers

Safford is 6-1 against Globe since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will square off against the Tigers at 2:00 p.m. Safford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Safford got the win against Coolidge by a conclusive 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Safford let Andrew Trujillo and Cole Goodman run wild. Trujillo scored three runs while going 1-for-2, while Goodman went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Trujillo has become a key player for Safford: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Carlos Arbizo was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Globe came up short against Apache Junction on Thursday and fell 6-1. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Globe saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaeger Franco, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Safford now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Globe, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Safford was able to grind out a solid victory over Globe in their previous meeting back in March, winning 10-7. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
