Basketball Game Preview: Lubbock Westerners vs. Caprock Longhorns

Lubbock hasn't had much luck against Caprock recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lubbock Westerners will square off against the Caprock Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with 12 defeats in a row, Lubbock turned things around against Plainview on Tuesday. They secured a 55-50 W over the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Caprock, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They snuck past Plainview with a 59-54 victory on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Longhorns as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Lubbock's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-14 and their overall record up to 9-20. As for Caprock, their win ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-22.

Lubbock ended up a good deal behind Caprock in their previous matchup back in January, losing 57-41. Can Lubbock avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
