Basketball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage was the 52-46 winner over Foothill when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Heritage Patriots were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 70-69 to the Foothill Falcons. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (61), the Patriots still had to take the loss.

Heritage lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brady Lockrem, who posted 18 points. The match was Lockrem's third in a row with at least ten points. Jace Bernard was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Heritage dropped their record down to 7-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Foothill, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will face off against Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage is facing Deer Valley at the right time seeing as Deer Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Foothill, they will challenge Granada at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Granada has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 184 points over their last three games.
