Softball Game Preview: Hollywood Sheiks vs. Hamilton Yankees

The Hollywood Sheiks will take on the Hamilton Yankees at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hollywood will be strutting in after a victory while Hamilton will be coming in after a loss.

Hollywood came out on top against Robert F. Kennedy Community on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Sheiks were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Bobcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sheiks.

Eleiyah Layton and Pamela Toledo did most of the damage at the plate: Layton went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Toledo went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Gonzalez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Hamilton's offense. They came up short against Redondo Union on Monday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Yankees' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Hollywood now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hamilton, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
