Softball Recap: Herscher Takes a Loss

Herscher lost against Coal City back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Tigers lost 22-15 to the Coalers. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

RyLyn Adams led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Chloe Kinkade, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Herscher's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Coal City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

While Herscher had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
