Recap: Vistamar Vikings vs. Geffen Academy Bruins
After a string of four wins, the Vistamar Vikings's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 54-45 to Geffen Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Vistamar of the 70-60 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Vistamar lost, one person who can't be blamed is Luke Lagao. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with two steals.
Vistamar's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Geffen Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-6.
Vistamar will face off against New Roads at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Geffen Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rolling Hills Prep at 4:30 p.m. Rolling Hills Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Geffen Academy in California (Rolling Hills Prep is ranked 113th, while Geffen Academy is ranked 915th).
