Buhl took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Payette, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Buhl Indians narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Payette Pirates 8-7. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 14-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Buhl saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Richards, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Richards a new career-high. Broc Caldwell was another, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Buhl and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Payette, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Buhl didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-3 loss against Nampa Christian on the 14th. As for Payette, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-5 defeat against Sugar-Salem on the 15th.
